This is a genuine manufacturer approved replacement part. It is specially produced for use with handheld gas powered lawn and garden equipment. It is designed to keep the fuel in the tank. Includes a retainer that remains in the tank to keep the fuel cap from being lost or falling on the ground. This fuel cap is made out of plastic and it is sold individually.
Old fuel was left in it and gummed up the carburetor. Rebuilt the carburetor and replaced the fuel lines that had turned to goo. The hedge trimmer then ran, but not well. Hedge trimmer wouldn\'t run ,it would start then die .I noticed the gas cap was not venting ,new cap fixed it .
Purchased new cap on line
Opened package containing new cap
Pushed the part of the cap that helps from losing the cap into the tank.
Screwed the lid on
