Several matching screws may hold a hedge trimmer blade assembly together. If one backs out, breaks, or loses its threads, the cutting parts can shift and vibrate. Count the fasteners and compare their length before ordering, since one tool may use several similar screws. Remove the battery or unplug the trimmer, then cover the sharp teeth and wear gloves. Check the lock nuts and blade holes for wear as well. Start each screw by hand and tighten the set in stages, following the service manual so the blade remains straight and can move correctly.
