Hammer drill trigger switch failed

Opened the drill case (7 screws)
Drew a quick sketch of the wiring to the switch
Removed the wires from the old switch (all either push-on spade lugs or inserts with allen-key hold-downs)
Removed the old switch (which was identical)
Replaced all the wires in the same pattern
Re positioned the switch carefull y in the opening
Replaced the drill\'s housing and screws
Tested. (worked first time.)

1. Remove screws holding handle together
2. Removed old switch from handle housing with wires intact
3. Took pictures of old switch with wires intact
4. Carefully swapped wires from old switch to terminals on new switch, one wire at a time
5. Replaced new switch in drill handle
6. Screwed handle back together

Bad switch

Removed the screws from the handle and separated them
Made a wiring diagram of where the wires were located
Removed the wires from the old switch
Hooked up the wires on the new switch
Replaced the handles

The main switch failed after 4-5 uses

Separated the main handle by removing screws. Un-wired and removed main trigger switch.
Re-wired new switch and placed the switch and wires in their original position. Worked handle back in position and re-installed screws.
Be sure to take good pictures of wire positions before removing wires from faulty switch. This is criti cal for re-installing.

Made a wiring diagram
Disconnected the wires from the old switch
Connected the wires to the new switch
Placed the switch in its spot
Installed the rear handle
