Drew a quick sketch of the wiring to the switch
Removed the wires from the old switch (all either push-on spade lugs or inserts with allen-key hold-downs)
Removed the old switch (which was identical)
Replaced all the wires in the same pattern

2. Removed old switch from handle housing with wires intact
3. Took pictures of old switch with wires intact
4. Carefully swapped wires from old switch to terminals on new switch, one wire at a time
5. Replaced new switch in drill handle
6. Screwed handle back together
