First I had to cut off the old chuck with a cut off wheel on a 6GÇ¥ grinder. I cut just a little behind the broken gear ring. After removing the old chuck I could easily spin on the new chuck and tighten down the new retaining screw (inside the housing). Note: the chuck screws onto the shaft as a normal RH thread, but the screw is a L H thread. All in all, a very satisfying repair!

Removed the old chuck. However the internal screw was missing. The chuck was very tight and the flats on the shaft were small. Had to grind down an open end wrench to hold the shaft while I removed the chuck.
Threaded on new chuck and inserted the left handed screw
