This is a rubber piece manufactured by Makita for a variety of handheld power tools such as demolition hammers, drills, and scrapers. This cord guard/protector helps prevent damage to the point of connection between cord and machine during normal use. If damaged, the cord must be replaced as well. This is a simple repair and only a screwdriver is needed. • Unplug power tool • Remove one side of handle case • Disconnect cord/wires from tool • Pull cord through the new cord protector • Reconnect wires • Reassemble power tool; test
