This is a genuine manufacturer-sourced replacement field which is specially designed for Makita rotary hammers. A field is a central component of an electric motor which drives the tool, in conjunction with an armature it rotates the main shaft. Usually, a field is damaged by overloading the power tool, or because of a bad armature. It is highly recommended to replace both carbon brushes when replacing a field. Please note, this high-quality component is sold individually.
