Remove one of the clam shells.
Remove metal gearbox 4 screws
Carefully pull away motor from gearbox
Remove plastic gearbox cover
Remove old shifter part
Install new part
Check how new part engages with planetary gears and gearbox is clean enough
Then put all parts back together
