The actual fixing was quick. What took time was diagnosing the problem. I took the tool, a DeWalt Cordless Drill, to several retail stores that sells the product to find out what could be wrong with the drill. It acted like it had stripped gears which all stores agreed, stripped gears.
I took it apart just out of curiosity. I fe lt that since it was broken I couldn\'t make it worst. After careful observation I realized that the shifting mechanism was broken.
The part cost $1.60.
