It is a genuine DeWALT component which is specially designed for use with grinders. The pinion is an important part of the unit which helps to drive the shaft. Unfortunately, over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement to ensure your tool functions properly. One durable metal pinion gear is included. Refer to the appropriate diagrams for your model for the exact location and the correct application. You will need a screwdriver to take the housing apart in order to perform this repair.
