1. Drill out the old pins.
2. Replace with the new pins from eReplacement.com

1. Remove old cotter pins from old hinge pins using pliers.
2. Remove one old pin using pliers.
3. Install new pin and new cotter pin using pliers.
4. Repeat 2 and 3 for other side.

2. Removed the end cap of the lid assembly from the rest of the assembly.

4. Make sure to remove the flared end as well, with either a saw or a vise grips.
5. Make sure to make a center punch, so the drilling starts as close to center as possible.
6. Make sure to use a cutting oil with the drill bits, to keep them cool, and a drill press if you have one handy.
7. Make sure to go slow. I bought brand new drill bits for this project to reduce the amount time needed drilling.
