This is a genuine OEM approved replacement in-tank fuel filter, it is designed for use with Generac portable generators. The purpose this part is to ensure the fuel that is supplied into the carburetor is free of dirt and any other contaminants. Over time it may get dirty and logged restricting the fuel flow, if the engine is not getting enough fuel, it is time to replace the fuel filter. It is a durable plastic body in-tank fuel filter which is sold individually.

removed top hose clips,removed hose clips installed hoses and filter.before I did this I shut gas line to filter.

Fuel hose was too short and had a larger OD. Old hose clamps did not fit. The longer fuel hose that I ordered did not arrive.

Removed air filter housing to have access to all fuel lines and filter.
Purchased new hose clamps. Stable & Fuel Mechanic fuel additives.
Sprayed carb cleaner in choke and carburetor drain.
Drained tank and added new gasoline.
Carburetor still appears to be gummed-up.
Difficulty in purging air from fuel line s.
Still unable to start the generator, although it pops off for a few seconds until carb cleaner runs out. Repair incomplete.
