Fuel grommet kept trying to come back out of tank when putting fuel shutoff in grommet.
Older female with weak strength in hands, maybe an extra set of hands might have helped. Tried dish soap several times on fuel shutoff to lube to get into fuel tank grommet, finally went to 30 weight oil. Lacking enough room to be able to push shutoff valve into grommet, used pliers to hold valve and kept pushing til it finally went it ri

Tank grommet disintegrated and hose was plugged.
Drained the fuel from the tank
Replaced grommet (tricky) and replaced gas hose and cleaned the shut off valve.
