The fuel line was leaking at the connectors due to age; dried and cracked hose and plastic

Copied the old configuration of hoses and connectors after draining the gas from the tank. Cut hose to length needed with razor knife, inserted plastic connectors into hose using dish soap as lubricant, attached back onto generator fuel tank and engine using clamps provided. Refilled gas tank and tested all joints and connectors for lea ks by running the generator for 5 minutes. Viola! EZ PZ.
