I removed four screws that held the motor cover on and slid the old gear and washer off. I then slid the new gear and washer on and replaced the cover. added a small amount of white lithium to the gear. The slicer worked like new.
Remove the blade , then the gear cover. Remove the old gear and clean the inside thoroughly, add some food grade grease to the gear. Then reassemble in reverse order.
