Pilot would not stay lit. Replaced Thermocouple

Unplugged unit from the power supply.
Shut off the gas supply.
Unbolted the pilot box from the fireplace frame to gain easy access to thermocouple.
Unbolted and removed old thermocouple and installed the new thermocouple in the pilot box.
Unbolted the other end of the thermocouple from the backside of the gas valv e.
I had to come in from the backside of the fireplace to do this due to the position of gas valve.
Replaced the pilot box after replacing the pilot gasket.
Turned on the gas.
Plugged in the power.
Lit the fireplace per unit instructions.
