Pilot would not light. Unit was about 15 years old and full of rust.

Remove log set for working space.
Simply cut all four lines and wires at the under side of the mounting bracket and pulled them out of the way underneath.
Next, I installed the new unit to the mounting bracket and screwed it in place.
Now each new line can be matched up to the old one and replaced using either a screwdri ver or an open ended wrench. Since the old and new lines are exactly the same, this was simple.
Works like new and saves plenty in service fees. If I could do it this easily, most others should be able to also. Take your time, use good lighting and don\'t get frustrated!

Removed the assembly and replaced it with new parts. The only issue was that the stiff copper part would not line up with opening at first, upon realizing the issue it forced it below the door that was obstructing the alignment then it worked perfectly. The rest was piece of cake and would have taken less than 30 minutes had I not exper ienced this issue. Ordering with the help of a phone call first then online was flawless and delivery was spot on. Will be using this service in the future and promoting to my friends and family. Thanks for the professional service.

Remove glass by flipping the two levers under firebox and carefully lifting away.
Take pictures of log arrangement, then remove logs.
Remove 7/16 nut securing ignitor plate in the firebox.
In the regulator compartment underneath, Disconnect the (2) remote switch wires from gas regulator, then pull piezo wire off ignitor (just pull it toward the rear).
Disconnect gas and pilot feeds from regulator (one on the side, one on the front of the regulator, two different sized nuts. I used a line wrench to avoid stripping them)
Remove plate covering the through hole going up to the firebox. This is done from the bottom looking up at the top of the regulator compartment. Using a stubby phillips head or even better, put a phillips head bit in a wrench for good leverage. Don\'t strip it !
Scrape the heat resistant (red) silicone away from the bottom and remove assembly from the top. You\'ll need to straighten the gas lines out to fit them through the firebox opening.
Insert new assembly by putting wires then gas lined down through the firebox access hole.
Carefully bend each gas line with wide bends (avoid pinching or crimping by using wide bends) so they reach their respective connection points. The lines are soft and bend easily without issue if you take your time.
Install 7/16 nut to secure ignitor plate up in the firebox.
Install covering plate ( the one on the bottom with the silicone) with the phillips head.
Install gas lines and wires back onto the regulator.
Install logs and replace glass.
I suggest a 1 minute test fire before applying the heat resistant silicone, just in case you need to take it back apart. Once it cools from the test fire, apply silicone with rubber glove to bottom plate where it enters the fire box.
Sounds like a lot, but once you have the right part in hand, it\'s pretty simple.
