I thought it was my drag. After replacing the drag parts it was still slipping. I discovered that the braided line will slip on the spool if it is the only string on the reel. I replaced the braided line but first I used about 20 yards of monofilament. that fixed the braided line from slipping.

To replace the drag washers, you only have to disassemble the handle side of the reel by removing three outer screws and two internal ones. Pay very close attention to the order that the parts come off or you might be able to find a how to video on you tube.

If you have cleaned the Abu Garcia6600 reel. Disassemble reel down to removing the side plate from the gear mechanism. Remove drive shaft with spider washer to access the clutch arm. The black piece over the remainder of the clutch arm needs to be lifted to remove the arm completely. Reassemble the reel in reverse order. Apply light greas e to gears and to drag washers and lite oil to clutch arm pivot areas.
