Product Description

?

This is a brush box assembly designed for various sander models. Brush boxes are essential components that house carbon brushes responsible for transferring electricity from the motor to the sanding pad. When the carbon brush assembly wears out, it can no longer efficiently transfer electricity, causing the sander to stop working. This brush box assembly includes the carbon brush, its housing, and the necessary wiring. Replacing the brush box assembly is a straightforward process, requiring only a screwdriver and a set of pliers. Begin by disconnecting your sander from its power source, whether it is a battery or a wall outlet. Next, remove the screws securing the main housing of the sander and locate the brushes inside. Use a set of pliers to disconnect the wire from the old brush and a flat-head screwdriver to lift the old brush out of its slot. Insert the new brush box assembly into the slot and connect its wires. Finally, reattach the sander outer housing and secure it with the screws.

My Dewalt orbital sander gave up after a lot of prep work for house painting. I opened the top and the brushes were all but gone. I ordered up a set from eReplacement and it took 10 minutes to get the new brushes in place, the wires reconnected and the sander working like new. All that was needed was a torx screwdriver and a pair of needl e nose pliers. Nice being able to get it back functioning for an investment of less than $15 including shipping!
