The motor is made out of metal. This is available as an individual replacement part. It is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer and used in ventilation fans made by Broan. When replacing this part a wrench might be required during the installation process. It will require replacing if it becomes broken.

Finally installed
Received this fan and the fan blade in about 2-3 weeks it was not in stock. Pulled out the old motor and melted fan blade about a year ago. I had a hard time finding installation instructions. Seems to work and I am pretty sure I installed it correctly but doesn’t blow air outside very well.

We removed the old motor and fan. Oiled the old one and it started to work but I wouldn\'t put something back in service without feeling better about a repair. Ordered new part and it came exactly as ordered. Also the fan.
