This is a genuine manufacturer approved replacement part designed for use with lawn mowers/tractors. This gasket provides a seal for the valve cover. Over time it will shrink, become brittle and crack allowing for leaks. At that time it should be replaced. It is made out of composite material and it is sold individually. Replacing this item you would need a wrench.
