This is an original part from Kohler. The retractable starter assembly is designed for use with many small engines. When the starter rope is quickly pulled, the assembly activates the motor as the rope retracts. This important component is constructed of metal, plastic and rope, and is sold individually. A screwdriver, socket set and adjustable wrench are often required.
