This is an OEM replacement part for Kohler engines. The dipstick is used to measure the oil that is in a container or engine. When using this part, it notifies you on when to refill your oil so you do not have engine issues. This part is made of steel and is sold individually. No tools are necessary for installing, just push the dipstick in place.
