After years of sitting due to a bad fuel solenoid and carb, I replaced the carb assembly and studs previously removed, connected the new carb and air intake, installed choke and throttle linkages, oiled the cylinder and rotated the fly wheel by hand. Once ready, I installed a new spark plug, changed the oil and borrowed another mowers ba ttery, I fired up the scotts L1742 that has been sitting for almost 10 years! Some chugging, some smoking and oiling all the steering points a perfectly good mower with 75 hours on it is ready for service again.. why did I let it sit for so long?!
