This is a genuine part that is supplied by the original manufacturer for use with Kawasaki engines. The recoil spring is coiled tightly into the starter housing. When the starter rope is pulled, the tension on the spring allows the rope to spin fast and send a spark to get the engine going. This part is made of metal and is sold individually. For installation you will need a screwdriver, this spring comes already coiled.
