Used hand to remove old spring. Slightly bent one end of the new spring to go into the holes. Then compressed the slightly bend end back into shape.

The spring was easy enough to replace but it needed adjustment, At first it allowed the engine to idle too slow. After bending it to allow less tension to increase the speed of the engine it operated just fine. Yours might need more tension.
