Starter motor solenoid would not engage

1. Remove top engine cover and move it and manual clutch out of the way.
2. Unscrew bolts holding starter motor
3. Unscrew two terminal leads and pull push on leads from bottom of motor.
4. Cut cable tie holding ground lead bundle to motor
5. Reinstall all leads, making sure red and yellow push ons are in sam e place as before
6. Bolt new motor in
7. Replace previously removed manual clutch and then engine cover.

After extended storage the starter motor wouldn\'t engage the flywheel.
