I had tried to just replace the starter rope but made a BIG mistake. I removed the pulley assy and sprung the spring. Also had two bolts and nuts fused together. My mower is 20 years old. Anyway with the new parts installed in just a few minutes the mower was running on the 2nd pull.
Removed the circlips and pinion gears and one of the transmission axle holders. Removed transmission spring and transmission. Removed wheel axle. 1. Removed the recoil starter housing.
2. Installed the new recoil starter housing with replacement nuts.
