This bolt helps to secure muffler and carburetor to the short block. It is sourced from original equipment manufacturer for use with Honda small engines. Usually this bolt would need replacement if it is lost or has stripped threads. Please note this is a hex head bolt requiring a wrench for installation. It is sold individually.

Replaced carb on tiller 5 HP Honda engine. Was back firing and low power.

Found a couple of videos to look at before doing the repair. Took my time. Removed fuel tank. Drained fuel tank. Removed air box and filter. Removed Carb. Linkage was a bit tricky but it turned out well. Hoses removed fairly easy. Also replaced fuel filter and air filter. All went back together well. Also put in new spark plug and change d oil. Fresh gas and ready to go. A few pulls to get started as the carb was dry. Runs great. Just be careful not to bend linkage or stretch springs.

Muffler bolts broke off in cylinder head during removal of old muffler.

Tried to drill and easy-out old bolts unsuccessfully, had to drill out old muffler bolts completely. tapped boltholes out to M10X1.5 and inserted treaded bushing M6-1.0 X M10-1.5. cleaned up flange with emory wheel and installed new gasket, muffler, spark arrestor and plate, bolts, and muffler guard. Sounds and runs like a new mower. Not bat for a mower that\'s approx. 10 years old! Don\'t put em on the curb if the still run good folks! this route was much cheaper than a new mower!
