This is an authentic Briggs & Stratton replacement part that is sourced from the original manufacturer to be used with small engines. The rotates when the starter recoil is engaged and by the compression created by the motor running. The flywheel has magnets on its edge that create an electric charge when the magnets pass the ignition module. The fan blades on the flywheel are used to move air around the small block to prevent the engine from overheating. This item is available as an individual replacement part.
