This is an original part from Briggs and Stratton and Simplicity for use with Lawn and Garden Equipment Engines. The choke shaft closes the air path to the carburetor during engine start-up. The most common reason for replacing the choke lever is if you have trouble starting the engine and the problem is not in the choke shutter or the connection between the choke lever and shutter. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the choke shaft is a flat-head screwdriver, nut driver and snap ring pliers.
