When pulled, the starter rope engages starter spring causing the engine turn fast enough for the ignition module to generate a spark to ignite the fuel in the cylinder. This part is made of plastic, nylon rope, and a metal spring. This part includes the outer starter housing, the starter rope, and the recoil spring. To complete this repair you will need a screwdriver and a socket wrench to aid you.
