This carburetor is an authentic OEM sourced replacement part that is specially designed for Briggs and Stratton engines commonly installed on lawn and garden equipment. Its purpose is to mix the gas and the air before the combustible mix goes to the engine. If the engine won't start and the tank is full of fresh fuel, or it starts and shuts off almost immediately most likely replacing carburetor will resolve the issue.
