This is a starter motor kit, also known as a solenoid, • for a wide range of engines, commonly used within ride-on lawn mowers and tractors. Starter motors are electric motors that are designed to turn over the engine when the user turns or presses the ignition. Coupled with the motor, which is powered by the battery of the equipment, is a solenoid that activates the motor when you turn the ignition. If the engine for your equipment is not starting and simply emits clicking noises, it is likely a burned-out starter, but it can also be an indicator of low battery, or loose/corroded connections within the starter mechanism. This OEM starter motor kit is sold as an ensemble including the starter solenoid, as well as a spring, 16-tooth starter pinion gear, drive clutch, C-clip, wave washer and top washer. • You will need to assemble the kit prior to installing it onto your motor, and the kit goes in the order of drive clutch first, then pinion gear, spring, wave washer, top washer, and C-clip.
