1. Compared shapes and alignment of replacement gas tank with obvious bolts and shapes on the motor.
2. Removed gas line from engine attachments.
3. Removed fasteners holding gas tank in place, noting which size and exact screws to be used in each hole. Noted that the plastic tank had shoulder bolts which did not fit new tank , but new tank included proper replacement bolts!
4. Removed gas valve and its cover plate.
5. Removed gas line from old tank and installed it on the new tank.
6. Installed replacement metal gas tank onto motor and replaced fasteners in each hole. Tightened all bolts after alignment was confirmed.
7. Re-installed gas valve and its cover plate. Tested for operation.
8. Installed plastic line (not supplied) to air inlet nib on new tank so that gas can flow out normally, but water and dirt can not enter the tank through this vent assembly.
