Hello Randy, Thank you for your inquiry. The most common causes of the engine surging are an issue with the carburetor or the fuel to air mixture system. First check to make sure the gas and oil you have in the engine is fresh and not degraded. Check the fuel cap and fuel lines for any debris, and clean the fuel filter inside the tank. Next check the air filter for any damage or debris and clean or replace if needed. Use a spark plug tester to check the spark plug or inspect the spark plug electrode for any visible damage or excess debris. Next check the carburetor and gaskets and clean the carburetor thoroughly-we have included a link to our video on how to do so below.
