This is a genuine Briggs and Stratton part for use with Engines. The governor spring applies tension to the throttle to control engine speed. The most common reason for replacing the governor spring is when it is worn out or broken, causing the engine to over-speed or run improperly. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the governor spring are a Phillips head screwdriver and pliers. Disconnect the spark plug wire before installing this part.
