This is an authentic OEM part. The Briggs & Stratton breather tube is composed of plastic, and is made for use with many small engines. This item is designed to provide direction of excess fluid and gasses that have escaped from the engine. The breather tube is sold individually. A screwdriver and a wrench are often needed for the replacement. Please refer to the manual and diagram for specific repair instructions.
