Needed new switch

Parts Used:

Remove the nut and washer from the switch, then remove the switch. Exchange the wires one at a time to make sure they are on the correct terminal. The new switch does include a wiring diagram though. Then install the new switch.

Switch key would not insert

1. Removed switch from mower.
2. Looked up part due to age of mower; 20+ years.
3. Found new part number and found out that the 5 terminal switch is now a six terminal.
4. Installed new switch using a Crescent wrench.
5. Done

Switch Key broken internally - key would not rotate

Removed exterior nut and lock washer.
Pushed switch out
Disconnected switch plug
Installed new switch key,
Installed lock washer and nut
Aligned connector pins and plug and pushed together

Note: there are extra slots on connector plug that are not used.
