This is an authentic OEM part. The Briggs & Stratton governor spring (rich red) is compatible with many lawn and garden engines. The metal spring is often used to apply tension to the throttle to manage the engine speed. The governor spring is sold individually. You will need a screwdriver, wrench set and a pair of pliers for the repair.
