Starter drive gear wore out.

1. Removed the ground cable from the battery and removed the starter cable from the starter.
2. Removed the shrouding.
3. Removed the flywheel using an appropriate puller.
4. Removed the starter
5. Removed the roll pin holding the gear retainer and the removed the gear.
6. Installed the new gear and replaced the retainer and roll pin.
7. Installed the starter, flywheel and shrouding.
8. Connected the starter cable and reattached the ground cable.

Remove the starter from the engine ... 4 bolts. You will see the gear. Remove the lock pin and slide the spring, washer and the old gear off. Install the new gear by reversing the process. Very easy to do for anyone who is mechanically inclined.

Removed the starter from the engine block. Cleaned the outside of the starter. Punched out the roll pin holding the pinion gear in place. Installed the new pinion gear and installed the roll pin. Bolted the starter back on the engine block and I was ready to go. Works great.

Removed motor shroud.
Disconnected battery cable and removed starter motor.
Removed clip holding gear assembly to motor shaft.
Replaced broken gear on starter motor shaft.
Reassembled.

1. Remove flywheel nut
2. Use flywheel puller to remove flywheel
3. Drill out rivets holding gear to flywheel and remove gear
4. Install new gear with provided bolts and nuts
5. Install flywheel back on motor with square key lined up
6. Install flywheel nut and torque to spec
