This is a genuine manufacturer approved replacement air cleaner cover, it is specially made for Briggs and Stratton engines commonly installed on lawn and garden equipment. The purpose of this cover is to secure the air filter element and it protect internal parts like carburetor from dust and other debris. It is made from durable black plastic and it is sold individually.
1) Stripped the carb, ordered parts
2) Soaked the carb parts in NAPA carb cleaner
3) reassembled using the genuine B&S parts obtained from ereplacementparts.com
4) installed new plug
5) straightened out the bent air filter bracket, installed new cover and element.
6) engine started and ran on 3rd or 4th pull
