This is an OEM replacement part for Briggs and Stratton, Murray, Snapper, and Simplicity engines. When engaged the ignition key starts the lawn tractor. This part is made of metal and is sold in a set of two. There are no tools needs to use this part, as it comes pre-assembled and really to use.
