This is an authentic replacement part manufactured for use with Briggs and Stratton small engines. The special intake gasket seals the connection between the breather tube and carburetor. It is recommended to replace the gasket when servicing the carburetor, or air cleaner to assure a good seal when reinstalling the parts. The intake gasket is sold individually.

Remove air intake filter attached to carburetor. Remove two small bolts holding carb, note spacer will be reused. Disconnect idle rod and spring, replace old with new carb in reverse order.

Blew a head gasket

Tripped head off, inspected all parts, cleaned carburetor bowl while I had it off the engine.
I checked to make sure head and cylinder surface wasn\'t warped, de-carboned piston top and head. Re-assembled.
This type of repair is pretty straight forward.
If your new to this, keep nuts and bolts organized, and it goes easy !!

Lawn Mower would surge at idle and under load (low rpm to higher rpm) on itÆs own

Briggs& Stratton motor 190cc on craftsman brand mower
1. Removed rope pull mechanism cover air breather. several 5/16 hex screws
2. Removed springs from carburetor choke mechanism.
3. Removed fuel line and fuel tank used 3/8 bolt to plug fuel line. Drained carb into cup.
3. Removed engine cover to have access to a uto choke and carburetor.
4. Removed carburetor two bolts.
5. Removed carburetor float bowl,float and needle.
6. Removed existing rubber seat below needle. used e-part number kit 398188 (see e-part diagram).
7. Reassembled all parts. added Fresh Non-Ethanol gas. Runs as good as when it was new. No more surging. No other adjustments needed. Thanks e-replacement parts!

Replced Carburetor

Removed the carb
Removed the carb bowl and used carb cleaner on the jets.
Blew compressed air through the jets.
Confirmed the needle valve was functioning properly.
Re-installed the carb
Replaced the governor spring
Primed and started the engine.
