Briggs V-Twin running on 1 cylinder, will not turn over due to high compression.

Check rocker arm movement to determine cam condition.
Replace worn out cam (one lobe gone).
Good time to change the seal at this time too.
Carefully adjust the valves \"by the book\".
Check / clean carburetor very carefully. The idle jets are very small and clogs aren\'t easily seen.
(took 2 attempts)
Turns over freely now and runs like a top.

I disassembled the engine. made a list of parts. I looked up the torque values online and using the new parts reassembled the engine. It fired right off and ran smooth. The parts I received from Replacement parts fit perfectly and the price was right. They were delivered in a timely manner.

Engine overheated causing valve guides to push out and bend push rods

1. Removed valve cover
2. Removed valve springs and push rods
3. Used socket and hammer to push valve guides back in.
4. Reinstalled valve springs and new push rods
5. Adjusted valve clearance
6. Reinstalled valve covers with new gaskets
7. Washed engine thoroughly

Remove rocker arm covers, cleaned mounting surfaces on block and coveres, adjusted valves to .004, put new gaskets on and put rocker arm cover back on. Ran engine for 10 minutes and checked for any leaks on cover mounting surfaces
No leaks, job done.

Mower deck, parts almost worn out - Engine, replaced gaskets after valve adjustments

Deck - removed old parts and installed new ones, simple repair.
Engine - Required valve adjustment due to hard starting, adjusted valves, ordered new gaskets, replaces, again a very simple repair.
No special tools or instructions necessary.
When replacing engine gaskets, ensure oil level in engine is at the proper level as
some oil (minimal) be lost during valve cover removal and reinstallation.
