The purpose of this gasket is to create an air-tight seal for the float bowl, over time it may deteriorate, become brittle and crack eventually requiring replacement to maintain peak performance. Worked as it should
Had to use some RTV sealant to hold the gasket in place - to keep it from moving, but that's the manufacturer's defect. It's not inherent to the part. Part worked as it should.

Dirt in carburetor

1. Removed carburetor
2. Disassembled carburetor
3. Soaked carburetor and parts in carburetor for 48 hours
4. Blew out carburetor with compressed air
5. Re-assembled carburetor with new gaskets
6. Re-installed carburetor on tractor
7. Tested repair. All good.

NOTE: I took photograp hs prior to and during disassembly which were invaluable in correctly re-installing carburetor. Also purchased service manual for engine.

Had water in the carburetor

Removed carburetor gas tank and gas pump. I drained all the old gas out of the tank and used a hanger and a rag and moped the tank. then i rebuilt the carburetor I first took it apart and soaked it then I sprayed all the jets out. then put carburetor together. then put carburetor back on put new gas hose,gas filter,and gas pump. I did n ot want to recontaminate the carburetor.

Remove engine shroud.
Clean gunk from area.
Removed carb intake bolts and rubber hoses.
Pull carb forward and disconnect governor linkage.
Tilt carb down.
Removed bowl from carb, replaced parts and reassembled.

Put the carb, back on. It was easy. The guy put E85 gas in his mower. Not good for small engines!!(get that out there, for people using that kind of gas!!) engine would not start before. Now fires right up!!
