This is an authentic OEM sourced replacement piston ring set which is specially produced for Briggs and Stratton engines commonly installed on lawn and garden equipment. The purpose of these parts is to provide a tight seal between the piston and the cylinder walls. A worn or broken piston ring will allow combustion gases to escape the seal and enter the crankcase, this would cause low compression and a loss of power. If compression is reduced significantly, the engine will not run at all. Please note this high-quality metal set is sold individually.
