Motor-starter 497596

Removed all parts reqiured to access starter motor, including flywheel and generator coil .
Flywheel is on tapered shaft with key, and large nut. Lug nut air impact wrench loosened it most safely. Wheel puller tool and hammer freed the flywheel for removal.
Inspected starter motor. Found top bearing worn away, (causing pr ... Read more evious gears to deteriorate and need replacement) and now gear was jammed.
Chose to replace entire starter motor.
Reinstalled all parts.
Engine now starts as if machine were new. Battery drain much less.
Grateful to have exact replacement part available, with your rapid shipping.

You unhook positive side of battery. Then take off flywheel cover. Then take the positive wire off starter the the 2 bolts on top of the srarter. Pull off starter put new one on. Go back and put on everything you took off earlier. Rehookup
The battery cable. Now turn key if starts it\'s fixed.

Remove the shroud. Disconnect Battery. Remove plastic fan. Using a 1.25 inch socket and impact gun, remove the flywheel nut. Using a gear puller, remove the flywheel. Remove the wire from the starter and the two bolts. Remove the starter. Assembly is the reverse. So far, starter works great.

Had to disassemble the starter and change engine mount. The new starter had the wrong engine mount, however this was easily achieved. Had to remove the negative battery cable. Removed the side engine cover. Remove positive cable from the starter then removed two bolts from the starter engine mount, then install the new starter, replac ... Replaced the starter, very straightforward

Removed old starter and installed new starter, two bolts and a wire nut. Pretty simple once I took most of the engine housing off.
