This is an authentic replacement part manufactured for use with small engines. Seals can deteriorate overtime, and it is recommended to replace worn seals when servicing an engine. This seal is the lower seal in the engine's sump, the seal is sold individually.

Hello Russel, Thank you for your inquiry. There are several things that can cause this issue: oil leaking into the combustion chamber, so check the oil seals for warped or missing gaskets. You also want to check for proper combustion as incomplete combustion can cause carbon buildup. Incomplete combustion can be caused by idling the engine more than you run it at full speed, or the carburetor spraying too much fuel into the combustion chamber, so it burns cooler and causes a lot of smoke that fouls the plug and air filters.
