Removed cylinder head ,removed crankcase cover ,removed piston, honed cylinder to break glaze, installed new rings on piston, reassembled engine after thorough cleaning.
Removed starter housing shell nut securing starter wheel removal from main shaft. Removed old seal from shaft and inserted new oil seal with socket edges and tapping with hammer.
I had engine off of mower. I removed old seal and replaced with new seal. Then I put lawn mower parts back together. I also replaced two front drive wheels.

Engine had not been used for several years and fuel was not drained.
Fuel tank was drained and carburetor was removed and both were cleaned. Carburetor Diaphragm and welch plug was replaced after cleaning all carburetor jets and drilled orifices.
